More from the Space Camp Programme

We also did a robotics challenge, using NXT Mindstorms kits, which some of us had used before for the First Lego League. Unfortunately, our group was mostly unsuccessful, as the tank treads couldn't support it and it was scraping along ground. However, Benji's Boiz were more fortunate.

Yesterday we completed a robotics challenge in which we created a mars rover with Lego, which we controlled with a tablet. Despite our last minute modifications, including the ability to actually turn our vehicle, it was only able to run up and down an incline. However, we were one of three groups that got this far, achieving a joint first place in the challenge.

So on Wednesday we did a flight simulation which was run by the aviation challenge portion of Space Camp. We were given a run down of how to fly the F-16 USAF fighter jets ad then we were allowed to roam around a computer generated archipelago of islands and cities. After a certain amount of practice we were given 700 bullets in our guns and told to try and kill each other.
